EASTON, MA — Easton is a peaceful, suburban town that is a great community to raise a family as well as a town full of preserved history that its residents can be proud of.
Location
Easton is located in Bristol County and is bordered by the towns of West Bridgewater, Norton, Taunton, Raynham, Sharon, Stoughton and Mansfield. Although there is no official division between North Easton and South Easton, town residents designate one from the other based on zip code.
Schools in Easton
There are three early elementary schools in Easton from grades Kindergarten to second grade. They consist of Moreau Hall, Parkview, and Center School. There is currently construction being done to build one early elementary. The new combined school should be open in 2022. Easton has one elementary school, Richardson-Olmsted for grades 3-5. Students in grades 6-8 attend Easton Middle School, and grades 9-12 attend Oliver Ames High School also known as "OA". OA's colors are orange and black and their mascot is the tiger.
Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School is also located in Easton. Students in all of the towns bordering Easton, except for Taunton and Raynham, plus students in Foxboro, can attend Southeastern Regional.
College in Easton
Stonehill College, a private Liberal Arts college is also located in Easton.
What to do in Easton
Ames Free Library -The Ames Free Library is a beautiful, historic building downtown that was designed by the famous architect H.H. Richardson. It is an amazing facility, housing a large children's area, a very impressive reading room and an abundance of digital and in library resources.
Borderland State Park - At the center of Borderland State Park is the Ames mansion, which has been the site for several Hollywood movies, including Ghostbusters and Knives Out. People travel from all over the state to enjoy the park's trails for hiking and biking as well as fishing and canoeing on the pond. In the winter, people cross-country ski as well as sled at the park. There is also a disc golf course located throughout the park that is very popular.
Oaks Ames Memorial Hall - Oakes Ames Memorial Hall is a historic building, located on on Main Street, that was designed to be a meeting place for the residents of Easton for various functions. It is still used in this manner today, as a place for weddings, dances, parties, as well as the local farmers market.
Stonehill College - Stonehill College is a private college located in Easton on an expansive, picturesque 400 acres. Each year there are about 2,400 students on campus in addition to about 200 faculty members.
The Rockery - The Rockery was designed and created as a tribute to North Easton's citizens lost in the American Civil War. It was built to resemble a fortress.
Governor Oliver Ames Estate - Governor Oliver Ames Estate is a historical estate located in the center of town that is perfect for dog walking, picnics by the pond or just going for a leisurely stroll.
